What is the work?
The work of somatic embodiment knows that each individual possesses an innate capacity for healing.
The body knows. The nervous system remembers. The breath guides. The interstitial system integrates.
.
Through trusted presence, therapeutic touch, guiding breath and nervous system awareness, I can walk alongside you throughout your homecoming journey.
Healing is not something to look for outside of our own capacity & experiences. Healing unfolds through our own willingness to feel, breathe, linger and to reconnect with our soma.
Not every experience in life is easily digested; by working with the body to understand our patterns and experience our pains, we can recover our sense of joy, hopefulness and peace.
Sacred Somatic Journeys allows our responses and feelings to be fully present in the room and in our bodies as we bring the breath to the shadows within. As your practitioner and witness, I will be beside you every step of the way.

There can be no love & light without depth & shadow

Working Somatically
Trauma-Informed Recovery
Somatic Therapy is the practice of uniting all our parts and coming home to yourself.
In life we are often asked to self-abandon, causing the nervous system to suffer states of fight, flight, freeze, fawn or flop. If you sense that you have been stuck in one of these states, or asked to dwell in them too often, Somatic therapy will invite you off the psychotherapy couch and back into your body.
Working somatically will allow you to experience, be witnessed and integrate the experiences from the past into your present self without re-traumatizing your system through over-sharing, or revisiting stuck places without the means to move through them.
Somatic Tarot
A Person-Centered Approach
White Poppy Somatic Tarot is a method of reading Tarot I have developed to support those interested in embodying their own stories. You hold all the cards, so to speak, first choosing the art we will work with and then choosing your own cards as an act of Somatic intuition. We will locate where the art of each card sits like a beacon in the body and guide the breath to these places as you act as a self-healer ready to embody the narrative of your Somatic Tarot Body.

Sacred Somatic Journeys
Bodyworking Sessions
We begin with the Journey into the Sacred Heart, the act of meeting yourself in your body where all systems touch and pass through like lifeblood. From the heart all systems connect, the veins that flow through the skin and fascia, the lymph that collects where attention is needed, through the organs and muscles that remember how it felt when we learned life's best and worst lessons. I believe this work occurs in the Interstitial Space, the waters of the body that pass between all cells.

The Heroine's Somatic Journey
A Commitment to your self-healing work
To honour and support your commitment, I offer a container of 5 sessions, 3 body-working sessions and 2 Somatic Tarot readings to allow for true integration without losing momentum.
I call this the Heroine's Somatic Journey to honour this inwards path. The Hero's Journey is one that sells books and fills theatres. The Heroine's Journey was coined to acknowledge that some of the best stories never make it to the big screen. The Heroine's Somatic Journey honours the road you took to arrive here and the road you are taking home to yourself.

Cannot wait for the next appointment!"
Maria Nagy

Benefits To Somatic Recovery
There are no guarantees to working Somatically, however the benefits of this modality can include the following
Physical Results
Somatic movement has been seen to enhance body awareness, relieve stress, relieve body tension, support healing from trauma, promote mindfulness, and offer spiritual connection between your soma and nature.
Who benefits from Somatic Therapy?
My personal belief is that anyone can benefit from working with the body. Those who are working with C-PTSD, PTSD, grief, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, widespread or chronic inflammatory pain, neurodivergent individuals and those who feel that traditional talk therapy models are not supporting them are ideal candidates for Somatic Therapy.
You might resonate with Gabrielle as your practitioner if...
your personal experiences include immigration, loss of a significant parental figure, childhood trauma, chronic illness, Lyme disease, have left a religious institution, have a history of parental abuse or neglect, have a history of sexual trauma, have been subject to narcissistic abuse, have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, have been harmed by spiritual wellness, are a little bit witchy, are a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, have endured medical trauma, are a neurodivergent person, have a diagnosis of PTSD, C-PTSD or suspect they are living with either, or are trying to balance the horrors with a persistent whimsy. I know this work can be meaningful and transformative and together we can sit in the deep pain that comes from living within a society that constantly brings systemic pain back to our doors.
